What is a 360 Connection?
360 Connections are groups designed to help first-year students integrate socially, academically and developmentally to ensure successful retention and on-time graduation. By participating in a 360 Connection, students receive a holistic, 360° view of life as a Longhorn.
- A 360 Connection is a small community of first-year students who meet regularly with a common purpose, goal or theme.
- They may be called a cohort, program, community, group, or class, among other things.
- 360 Connections aid students in the transition from high school to college and help connect them with people and resources on campus.

Suggested Guidelines for 360 Connections
- Consist of approximately 20 students. This can be a part of a larger group as long as there is a formal structure for a small community or cohort to form within this larger group.
- Meet regularly — preferably once per week.
- Have regular contact with a professional staff/faculty member on campus, as well as with a peer mentor/upperclassman.
- Have a particular topic and curriculum that engages students and enhances their learning and transition.
- Communicate key messages or themes throughout the semester outlined by the campus-wide 360 Connections program.
- Have a designated point person to create/maintain a social media presence (blogs, Facebook, Twitter, email group, etc.).
